The IC bit
Standing proud in the busy city of Kirk Leigh is one of the oldest and largest buildings. The Library. Home to the widest range of documents you'll find anywhere in Eborshire.
The library dates back to the founding of Old Kirk Leigh and was moved to its current location when the city was relocated.
Should you not be able to find anything you're looking for, please ask one of the librarians and they'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
Please don't eat or drink near the scrolls. Also please don't remove anything from the library, but feel free to take copies.
The OCC bit
This database of documents and information is provided to you (the players) by us (the refs) to enhance your enjoyment of the game. Please treat it (and us) with respect as it's taken a lot of effort to compile.
This is aimed as a free access resource. Any PC (providing you can read!) can visit the library and read any of the scrolls found within. All I ask is that you don't abuse this and sit and read EVERYTHING - there is very little point. If your character is visiting the library to conduct some research, he probably shouldn't also be on the boards having a conversation over a pint - take things in moderation and only be in one location at a time. You'll find it adds a slightly different level to the game.
How we see this working This library is to represent your character visiting an actual library to look up some documents or books. This could be to aid in your skill or spell research, research into a local plot or just curiosity about something you heard on an adventure.
The document (page) you're looking for will be in here somewhere... you just have to find it.
If you can't find it, the simply ask one of the ref team (please look yourself before asking) and they'll point you in the right direction (after adding the correct page in some cases). They wont however, give you the direct link - you still have to look around.
Character Submissions
If you have anything your character would like to add to the library (reports, diaries, notes, research from other branches etc) then pass it onto a Librarian (Ref) and they'll add it to the right section. This is to help build the library into something everyone can use as well as ensure research and ideas aren't lost when your character dies or retires.
Remember though - this is a public library - so no School/Guild/Church secrets...
